Hello!

My name is Dacxilia S. Deras de Zavaleta, I am a graduate of the Public Accounting career of the University of El Salvador, Resident in New York, United States.  I have also  trained as a multimedia artist, writer, digital creator, announcer, community manager, photographer, singing in mesosoprano voice and violin beginner level. I  dedicated the last nine years  to the world of art and part of that time to the writing and editing of contents in the genres of narrative and poetry. In that sense, I have expanded my knowledge in an integral way, also studying the current digital strategies for the positioning of personal brand, certifying myself as Content & Community Manager by the Galileo University of Guatemala, as well as the design of textile patterns for surface, fashion design, artistic painting techniques, up to the professional edition of contents. As a writer, I have promoted and published the editorial project of the monographic anthology "El Arte y Yo en tiempos de Pandemia en El Salvador" 2021, three poetry books of my authorship, and I shared participation in four poetic anthologies. Being the first with the publishing house Diversidad Literaria, Madrid, Spain 2017. As an artist among my apprenticeships I received  mentorship from outstanding masters of the plastic arts such as Gilberto Arriaza and Miguel Ángel Sermeño from El Salvador and Anna San Felippo from Argentina.  I have exhibited my artistic work in El Salvador and the United States, highlighting the series Music Make Painting Currents and Labyrinths and Quarantine's Landscapes. On the other hand, I have taken my experiences to the formation and application of art as a healing entity for the soul and body, so I have also worked as a Creative Arts Therapy Instructor, certified by The Complementary Medical Association of Saint Maurice, Paris, France.  I was awarded the prize for Artistic Creativity by the Municipality of Santa Ana, included in the faces of Salvadoran Literature in the work of the outstanding artist and writer Atilio Mungia; as well as mentioned in different printed journalistic media and digital literary magazines.

I currently run my own art studio and am the founder of the independent publishing Empire Books Editions in Queens, New York. Correspondent and director of the Art and Literature column of the digital newspaper ENNewssv.com and entrepreneur of my own brand as Community Manager.

My Story

I discovered that art was beautiful in my teens, when I spent hours and hours writing poetry as a hobby while I was studying my high school, then I did a little painting without major importance. However, my studies at the university were totally far from a humanistic career, as I graduated from the career of Public Accounting in El Salvador, Central America. For a while that was my life.

Then, as time passes, I create a family with two beautiful daughters who have been for me a primary source of inspiration and motivation to continue whenever things are not going well. After a while, a major health condition led me to have to rest at home and during that episode I resumed the art of painting and writing, it was undoubtedly one of the best decisions I have made for my life, I found myself and I knew how great art can be in a person's life, it was healing and transformative. I look for a way to improve my skills in the arts, study history, and learn more about painting techniques, as well as further train me in understanding how art can heal or alleviate and be supportive for someone who is in an emotionally or physically difficult situation. I also wanted to improve my editing and get to know the world of publishing so I have spent a lot of time studying it.

A few years ago I moved permanently to the United States and that caused a total turnaround in my life and my abilities. I can say that I have dedicated much of myself to self-training and in that way I have also developed my consciousness and inner being and how we are connected to an infinite and powerful universe.

On the other hand, throughout my life my philanthropic side has led me to collaborate as a promoter of various social programs for disadvantaged or low-income communities, so that experience together with my love for art has led me to offer  support to the diverse communities of artists and writers.

Little by little I get more involved in editorial management, and I'm really passionate about it. So currently, one of my main activities is Editorial Consulting oriented to the Hispanic writer. I am working hard to expand my horizons and reach new goals, I generate opportunities and I like to take advantage of every moment in advancing my career as an editorial consultant. You can learn more about this by clicking here.

I continue to learn a lot from everyone and my greatest desire is to be able to contribute all my love for art to generate a change of life based on individual, social, cultural and universal well-being using the most affordable tools and developing my best skills.
